Albufereta Beach is a semi-urban beach with golden sand that usually has a high occupancy due to its easy access. It has an approximate length of 400 meters. Due to its calm waters you can practice all kind of water sports. Being the site of an ancient Roman settlement the place is ideal for the practice of scuba diving.
THE ALBUFERETA WRECK
It is a shipment of Roman amphorae that rests on the sea floor just over 5 meters deep. This small marine site was discovered in 2002 when two divers stumbled upon the place by chance. The site is located 800 meters from the coast, making it quite accessible with a boat. If you have good lungs and snorkel goggles, you will be able to see the amphorae without problems, although the ideal thing is to do so with a proper diving equipment.
ROMAN FISH FARMS
In the eastern part of the beach we shall find some Roman fish farms carved into the rock. It is a very popular location among snorkeling lovers.

CABO HUERTAS LIGHTHOUSE. If you like walking, we recommend you a nice walk, along the path that runs along the entire rocky coast from Cabo Huertas to Muchavista Beach. You will go through Almadraba beach and other small coves (Cantalar, the Jews, Caleta, Palmera) and the Cabo Huertas Lighthouse. This route is approximately 4 kilometers. It takes two hours walking.

GREEN LANE TO THE CITY CENTRE (VIA VERDE DE LA CANTERA). We highly recommend you to take the green lane that borders the coast and allows us to walk or cycle from Albufereta passing through El Postiguet beach until reaching the center of Alicante (1.2 km).
